Message to the Magi

Magi on the move

I started this blog to share my journey into the Word of God with people who (like me) are full of questions about real life and need TRUE answers from the one who is Faithful and True. As a scientist and avid star gazer, I identify with the Magi or Wise Men of the nativity story. I think they were called “wise” because they were looking for the King promised by God (the fool says in his heart, there is no God). These were learned people who were as comfortable with the science of the physical as they were with the science of the spiritual or invisible. I find too many of today’s scientists have lost a vital component of reality when they avoid or blatantly ignore the unseen world. (Let’s not forget that microbes belonged to this “unseen world” until tools were developed to visualise them in the 1600s).

Hmmm…

So scientists would have been known as magi in ancient times, and they would have been trusted to solve complex problems and advising leaders just like they do today.

Imagine if…

Albert Einstein, Max Planck and Isaac Newton all got together with their clever colleagues, left their countries to go on a trek across the desert following their astronomical data (or a star like the Magi/ Wise Men did), to look for a very special new king?! You’d definitely have questions!

Around 2000 years ago, that’s what happened when the Magi/Wise Men left their country bearing gifts to worship the new born King- and found themselves in Bethlehem.

Got questions? So do I!
